On 14 and 15 May 2025, the city of Zaragoza once again became the meeting point for international specialists in pig reproduction with the celebration of the 17th edition of ITM, organised by Magapor.

This year, the event broke all records, both in terms of attendance and number of countries, consolidating itself as a worldwide technical reference. During these days, we had the participation of 396 professionals from 42 countries, which reinforces the international character of the congress and its importance for the exchange of technical knowledge.

The official opening was presided over by our General Manager, Jesús Mena, our Technical Director, Raquel Ausejo, and the Regional Minister of Employment, Science and Universities of the Government of Aragon, Claudia Pérez Forniés, who welcomed the attendees and highlighted Magapor’s commitment to innovation and continuous training in the swine sector.

An edition focused on the current and future challenges in swine breeding

The technical agenda of the congress brought together 13 internationally renowned speakers, who addressed the most relevant and current issues for the sector. Some of the outstanding topics were circadian rhythms in pigs, haemoglobin in weaned piglets, management of the modern sow and genetic improvement in reproduction. In addition, there was a presentation with a valuable perspective on the potential for global eradication of PRRS.

In addition, an interesting round table on 5-week banding was included, where experts discussed the application of this management technique.

A global meeting point for technical knowledge

Year after year, ITM proves to be more than just a congress. It is a space for training, debate and connection between professionals in the pig sector at an international level. The possibility of sharing experiences, establishing new relationships and updating technical knowledge is what makes ITM an unmissable event for specialists in pig reproduction.

Magapor would like to thank all the attendees, speakers and collaborators who make this event possible. The success of this 17th edition motivates us to continue moving forward with more strength towards a more technified, efficient and sustainable swine reproduction.

See you at the next edition of ITM!
