Last week we introduced you to the damaging substances for the semen that the materials used during the whole insemination process can contain (If you missed it click here). In Magapor the confidence in these materials is fundamental, for this reason we carry out an additional control of the safety of the materials called Vitalcontrol
The most relevant materials analyzed in this test are those that come into contact with sperm during the collection, analysis, packaging, storage and insemination phases. Magapor guarantees the safety of all of these materials by carrying out regular quality checks. Sampling is adjusted to the characteristics of each product, taking a random sample from the lot to be analyzed. The test consists in evaluating the quality of the seminal doses preserved in the presence or the absence of the material to be tested.
Safety analysis of plastics
For this, we have added a representative amount of the material to be evaluated in seminal doses of a male and included a control sample with doses without the material. The samples are kept up to 4-5 days after extraction in a chamber at 16ºC. Over time, the following parameters are evaluated: pH, percentage of total and progressive motility, agglutination, integrity of the membrane (sHOST) and of the acrosome (sORT).
Once it has been verified that there are no differences greater than 10% between the control sample and the sample with the material, the material is considered validated.
Magapor issues a validation certificate with the results obtained, available in Spanish, English and Chinese. The test plan includes catheters, insemination probes, ejaculate dilution flask bags, 100 liter dilution tank bags, A.I. gel, vinyl gloves, extraction beakers, filters, filter bags and cervix.
For Semenbag and Smallbag products, whose contact with semen is narrower and longer, a specific test plan, called RTC (Reprotoxic Toxicity Control), is carried out. The plan includes a set of tests that guarantee that the plastic does not contain cytotoxic or reprotoxic substances that can migrate to the seminal doses and decrease the fertility of the sperm, without altering the parameters that are routinely evaluated in the insemination centers.
The safety of all the materials involved in the insemination process is very important for reproductive success. For this reason, at Magapor we assure your safety, since it is essential to know if all the materials used comply with this requirement.
