Next April we will celebrate the 17th edition of ITM, a key event that brings together experts, researchers and professionals in the swine sector from all over the world. This year, as a novelty, we are launching the 1st Scientific Poster Competition, an initiative that reinforces our commitment to research and knowledge transfer, fundamental pillars of our activity.

Organised in collaboration with the University of Zaragoza and within the framework of the Magapor Chair, the aim of this competition is to encourage quality scientific production and make research activity in the field of swine reproduction more visible.

What are we looking for?

The competition is aimed at researchers working in the field of swine reproduction, both in universities and in companies. Posters should address topics related to:

  • Reproductive management and good practices.
  • Viral and bacterial infections.
  • Biosecurity and epidemiology.
  • Nutrition and animal welfare.
  • Genetic improvement and facilities.
  • New reproductive technologies.

We look for work that provides innovative solutions and relevant results, with the aim of highlighting research that contributes to the advancement of the sector.

Prizes and awards

Participating in the 1st Scientific Poster Contest offers a great opportunity to give visibility to the work of researchers in an international event such as the ITM. In addition, we have a series of awards and prizes:

Exhibition of the selected posters:
The 10 best posters will be exhibited during the congress, and their authors will have the opportunity to present them to the attendees.
Free access to ITM 2025:
The authors of the selected posters will be able to attend the congress free of charge, with access to all the talks and meals at the event.
Financial prizes for the three best papers:
First prize: 1000€.
Second prize: 750€.
Third prize: €500.

It should be noted that the prizes will be subject to the withholdings and taxes stipulated by current legislation.

Deadline for participation

The participation period will be open from 23 January to 7 April. Those interested must submit their posters before the deadline to be eligible for the prizes and awards of the competition.

The 1st Magapor Scientific Poster Contest is part of the activities of our Chair in collaboration with the University of Zaragoza, consolidating our commitment to the development of the pig sector and the transfer of knowledge.

For more than 17 years, the ITM has positioned itself as an international benchmark in the field of pig reproduction. This new competition is an example of our ongoing commitment to promoting innovation, giving visibility to research talent and fostering dialogue between the scientific community and industry.
