3rd Magapor Poster Competition

Once again, Magapor reaffirms its commitment to innovation and the development of the pig production sector with the 3rd edition of its Poster Competition, which will take place at the Magapor ITM Technical Congress on 28 and 29 April 2027 in Zaragoza.

The Magapor Poster Competition is organized in collaboration with the University of Zaragoza as part of the Magapor Chair. Its aim is to encourage high-quality scientific research and raise the profile of research in porcine reproduction conducted at universities, research centers and companies.

The competition is becoming an established meeting point for academia, research and industry, contributing to knowledge transfer and technological development within the sector. It reflects our ongoing commitment to promoting innovation and showcasing research talent in the field.

Poster topics

Posters must focus exclusively on porcine reproduction (sows and boars) and be based on scientific evidence. Topics may include:

• Reproductive management and good practices
• Viral infections
• Bacterial infections
• Biosecurity and epidemiology
• Nutrition and welfare
• Genetic improvement
• Facilities
• New reproductive technologies

Eligibility

Students, researchers and professionals working for companies associated with the pig production sector are eligible to participate. Each first author may submit only one poster and will be considered the competition entrant. Co-authors are also permitted.

We are looking for work that offers innovative solutions and relevant findings, highlighting research that contributes to the advancement of the sector.

Poster evaluation

All submissions will be assessed before the congress by a specialized Scientific Committee comprising researchers from universities and research centers.

The 10 highest-rated posters will be shortlisted, and the three winning posters will be selected from among them.

The authors of the three winning posters will give a short oral presentation of their work on the first day of the Magapor ITM 2027 Technical Congress. Each presentation must last five minutes and include slides summarizing the poster’s main objectives, methodology, results and conclusions.

The results will be announced on 12 April 2027.

Prizes and recognition

The authors of the 10 highest-rated posters will receive free admission to the Magapor ITM 2027 Technical Congress, including access to the talks and meals. They will also be able to display their posters in a designated area at the congress and discuss their work with attendees and answer any questions during breaks.

In addition, the three winning posters will receive the following prizes:

• 1st prize: 1.000€
• 2nd prize: 750€
• 3rd prize: 500€

Please note that prizes are subject to the withholdings and taxes required under current legislation.

Submission deadline

The competition will be open for submissions from 19 October 2026 to 19 March 2027. Anyone wishing to participate must submit their work before the deadline to be eligible for the prizes.
