Within the context of the new edition of our ITM 2025 congress, and under the Magapor-University of Zaragoza Chair, we held the 1st Scientific Poster Competition.

The aim of this competition was to encourage quality scientific production and to showcase the research activity carried out in universities and companies. Through this competition we have been able to make quality research visible, promote research talent and strengthen knowledge transfer.

From all the participants, 10 posters were selected and exhibited during the congress. These 10 selected posters were given access to the congress to attend all the presentations, as well as the lunches, allowing networking with participants from all over the world.

In addition, the 3 best posters were awarded financial prizes. The winners of these prizes were:

1st Prize – Laura Garza
Evaluation of colostrum and milk composition according to sow parity and body condition prior farrowing using different techniques
Awarded with a prize of 1.000€.

2nd Prize – Beatriz Saldaña
Effect of season on semen quality in boars of different genetics and ages: Study of 4 years of data from an Artificial Insemination Center
Awarded 750€.

3rd Prize – Fernando de Mergelina
SERUM POOLING: MAKING PRRSV SURVEILLANCE IN THE BOAR STUD AFFORDABLE
Awarded with a prize of 500€.
