A new edition of ITM, the technical congress on swine reproduction organized by Magapor, took place on 24th and 25th April. In this edition we have returned to the city of Zaragoza and for its inauguration we counted with the presence of the president of the Government of Aragon, Mr. Jorge Azcón. Mr. Jesús Mena, General Manager of Magapor, and Mrs. Raquel Ausejo, Technical Director, were also present at the inauguration.

This year, the 16th edition was held, consolidating itself as a reference congress in the pig sector. Throughout the conference, we brought together more than 356 specialists from the sector from 31 countries, with successful attendance and great satisfaction on the part of the attendees. This success was possible thanks to the participation of 17 internationally renowned speakers.

The swine sector, highly technified and constantly evolving, faces emerging challenges, where digitalization plays a crucial role in its progress. For this reason, in this edition, we emphasized the application of the latest technologies to reproduction.

The different presentations dealt with current issues, such as the challenges posed by PRRS and how to deal with them. Another of the topics covered was the influence of toxins on spermatozoa and the challenges in an insemination centre. To end the first day we had a round table on the Digital Transformation in pig production. This round table focused on digitalization to improve processes.

In the conferences, there was also time to learn how housing can influence the reproductive performance of boars and sows or the impact of semen dosage on the fattened pig in the industry. In addition to learning about different approaches to reproductive management.

The great success we achieve year after year is possible thanks to the involvement of all participants. Throughout the editions we have managed to make ITM more than just a congress; ITM is a meeting point for the sector that allows the exchange of experiences between people from all over the world.
