In it its recognizes <strong>the invaluable contribution of women to rural development<\/strong>. They are farmers, stockbreeders, veterinarians, entrepreneurs, educators&#8230; and with their work they help economic growth in the most remote and vulnerable environments in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Rural women represent more than a third of the world&#8217;s population and 43 percent of the agricultural workforce. However, structural barriers and discriminatory social norms continue to limit the power of rural women in political participation within their communities.
